Check of productivity of the fuel pump

| At the diesel engine pressure of fuel is checked in the pipeline between the filter and the fuel pump of a high pressure (ТНВД).
Watch necessarily good ventilation of a workplace. Fuel steams are poisonous. Do not use open fire, do not smoke. Danger of occurrence of a fire! Keep in readiness the fire extinguisher. |
Condition for exact check is the serviceable and charged storage battery.

1. Disconnect from a distributive highway a hose of return of fuel (2), preliminary having opened collars. Address to an accompanying illustration.
| | The fuel system is under pressure. The flowed out fuel wipe a rag. Collars at installation replace with the new. |

| At some models the hose of giving of fuel is attached directly to a distributive highway. At its installation a sealing ring necessarily replace on new, having greased preliminary with vaseline. Other execution provides fastening of fuel hoses by clips. In this case for removal of clips special tool BMW 16 1 050 is required. Before installation check up a sealing ring. In the presence of damages replace it. |

2. Direct a hose of return of fuel from a distributive highway to a measuring vessel in capacity about 2 l.
4. Disconnect the relay of the fuel pump. The relay is in the relay block at the left behind in an impellent compartment.
5. Connect at the basis of the relay a conductor of the plug 30 and 87b (diameter 1.5 mm) and include the relay approximately on 30 with, address to Section Check of the relay of the fuel pump.
6. Productivity of the fuel pump for 30 with should make nearby
1 l. (The pump current makes nearby 9.5).
7. If productivity of the pump less, replace the fuel filter and again check up the pump. If and now giving is small, replace the pump. |
