Work on removal and installations of a camshaft demands application of the special tool. It is recommended to spend her in the conditions of specialised repair trucks of firm BMW. Here camshaft removal on the removed head of cylinders is described. The specified operation can be executed and on the established head of cylinders. Preliminary works according to the description in Section Removal and installation of a head of cylinders thus is necessary to spend.
Measure camshafts. Value of axial and radial backlashes should correspond presented in Specifications.

| 1. Remove a head of cylinders, address to Section Removal and installation of a head of cylinders. |
2. Turn out hairpins. Address to an accompanying illustration. |
|
3. For removal of camshafts adaptation BMW 113260 is required. The adaptation keeps bearings of camshafts in working position at removal of loose leaves. Removal of both camshafts is carried out equally. The sequence has no value. Address to an accompanying illustration. |
|
4. Turn out spark plugs.
5. Establish the adaptation and fix it in carving apertures of spark plugs of cylinders 1 and 4 moment of 25 Nanometers. |
6. Turn эксцентрикового an adaptation shaft fix covers of bearings. Address to an accompanying illustration. |

7. Turn away all bolts of fastening of covers of bearings.
| | The cover of the first bearing of a camshaft of inlet valves is aligned by the adjusting plug. For an exception перекашивания a camshaft turn away bolts of fastening of the first cover and remove it. Address to an accompanying illustration.

8. Remove the adaptation. |
9. Remove covers of bearings and a camshaft. Lay covers one after another. At assemblage they should be established in former positions. Covers of bearings of a camshaft of final valves have marks with А1 on А7, inlet valves with Е1 on Е7. Address to an accompanying illustration. |

10. If it is necessary, for example, if it is necessary to remove valves, remove in gathering a lath of bearings (2) with pushers. Watch aligning plugs (3). Plancks in a point (4) have marks "And" for final valves and marks “Е” for inlet valves. Address to an accompanying illustration.

Installation
| | If the camshaft is removed, it is necessary to mean the following. Without loading hydropushers are extended and after installation some time for their compression is required. Thereof valves during some time can be opened in the position which is not corresponding to a cam and to rest against pistons. Therefore it is necessary to maintain the following time between installation of a camshaft and a head of cylinders: at temperature +20С (premise temperature) - 4 mines, at temperature +10С - 11 minutes After installation of a head of cylinders are necessary to wait even 30 minutes After that it is possible to start the engine. |
If the camshaft acted in film on the established head of cylinders, turn a cranked shaft approximately on 30 in a direction of rotation of the engine through ВМТ. Thus in ВМТ there will be no piston and valves do not rest against them. Establish camshafts and check up the distribution moments. Only after that a cranked shaft turn back in ВМТ and put on a chain, address to Section Removal and installation of a head of cylinders.

| 1. Check up pushers on deterioration presence (задиров), if necessary replace with the new. |
2. Oil bearings of camshafts and establish shaft so that tops of cams of inlet and final valves of the first cylinder showed against each other. Address to an accompanying illustration. |
|
3. Establish a lath of bearings with the inserted pushers in a head of cylinders. Do not forget about aligning plugs (3). |
|
4. Insert loose leaves of bearings according to marks. They should be established on former places.
5. Establish the adaptation and clamp loose leaves.
6. Loose leaves tighten the moment of 15 Nanometers.
7. Unclench the adaptation and remove it. Screw spark plugs.
8. Establish a head of cylinders, address to Section Removal and installation of a head of cylinders. |

Measure axial and radial backlashes of camshafts. Demanded value is resulted in Specifications.
