Ranges of average, long and short waves provide the big range of reception as radio signals extend not only as the superficial waves which are bending around the Earth, but also as the spatial waves reflected by an ionosphere. |
In VHF-range (FM) better quality of reproduction of a sound, than on any other waves is provided considerably. However the radius of action of the radio stations working in this range, is limited owing to rectilinear distribution of ultra-short waves.
Certain restrictions in reception partially are compensated by "smart" systems.
System RDS (Radio Data System) provides an automatic choice of frequency with the highest quality of reception if the radio station conducts an announcement on several frequencies.
