Check of fuel system. Winter operation of the Diesel engine

The petrol engine

Gasoline is extremely inflammable, therefore at work with any components of fuel system it is necessary to accept special safety measures. Do not smoke and do not come nearer to a place of work with open fire or the redurable not protected by a lamp shade. Do not make such works in the garages equipped with heating devices, working on natural gas (such, as водогреи, dryers, etc.). The working platform should be ventilated well. At gasoline hit on a skin immediately wash off its water with soap. At carrying out of any works with fuel system put on goggles and hold near at hand the fire extinguisher. In case of a gasoline spillage immediately wipe a pool, but do not hold the rags impregnated with gasoline in places where it can самовоспламениться.


 CHECK

1. If you have felt a smell of gasoline during movement or after the car has stood on the sun, it is necessary to check up a condition of all fuel system immediately.
2. Uncover a fuel tank and check up it on presence of damages and corrosion. The sealing insert on a cover should be whole. In case of presence of damages or corrosion replace a cover.
3. Survey inlet and returnable lines of fuel system on presence of cracks. Make sure that connections between lines of fuel system and system of injection of fuel, and also between lines of fuel system and the built in fuel filter not ослабли.

4. As some components of fuel system - for example, a fuel tank and some lines of fuel system - are in the bottom part of the car, they are easier for examining, when the car is raised лебедкой. If it is impossible, поддомкратьте the car and establish it on support.
5. On the raised car examine a fuel tank and a bulk mouth on presence of holes, cracks and other damages. Special attention give to a connection condition between a bulk mouth and a tank. Examine all arms and tapes of fastening of a fuel tank to make sure that it is reliably strengthened on the car.

Never, under no circumstances, do not try to repair a fuel tank (excepting replacement of its rubber components). The flame of the welding device or any other open fire can easily lead to explosion of evaporations of gasoline in a tank.

6. Carefully check up all fuel hoses and the metal lines going from a tank on presence of weakened connections, twisting, signs of deterioration of materials of hoses and other damages. If necessary make repair or replace the damaged sections (address to the Head of the Power supply system and release).

The diesel engine

Operation in winter conditions

Usually in дизтопливо no additives are added. But with fall of temperature of air fluidity дизтоплива decreases, it becomes viscous as medical For this reason of firm manufacturers of mineral oils apply the special winter additives, called to improve fluidity and to guarantee engine start at temperatures to-15C. However not always it is enough these additives for excellent job in the winter, therefore in case of refuelling summer дизтопливом in the winter in it it is necessary to add kerosene or, as a last resort, низкооктановый gasoline (not АИ-95).

Mixing should be made whenever possible before engine start since differently at first it is necessary to clean the filter and pipelines from paraffin.

Since kerosene addition reduces capacity of the engine, разбавление should be made in strictly certain proportions. Address to Specifications

For доливания in дизтопливо it is not necessary to use высокооктановый gasoline.

Because of ease воспламеняемости gasoline mixing should be made in a fuel tank - at first to fill in gasoline, then дизтопливо. Percentage parities for various temperatures of air are resulted in Specifications in the beginning of the Head.

At kerosene addition capacity of the engine decreases.

If the engine is not got owing to загустевания fuel, to start it very hard. For start:
   a) Remove the fuel filter and heat up in a water bath while fuel does not become liquid., or replace its new.
   b) Roll the car in heated garage.
   c) Spray fuel system hot water.
   d) Firm BOSCH delivers a diesel heater for additional installation. The electric heater is established in the additional pipeline to the fuel filter.

At all it is not necessary to warm up system of injection or a fuel tank a blowtorch or other similar adaptation in view of danger of explosion!
