The term "adjustment" is used in the given Management more likely for a designation of a complex of procedures, than one separate procedure.

Is even more often it happens at purchase of the second-hand car which owners did not trouble themselves with frequent both regular checks and service. In this case, besides performance of usual procedures on routine maintenance, it will be necessary to make engine adjustment.
The first step in any procedure of adjustment or diagnostics for the purpose of improvement of work of the engine is check of degree of compression in cylinders. Compression check will help to define a condition of internal components of the engine and should serve as the index at adjustment and repair carrying out. If, for example, check of degree of compression specifies in serious internal deterioration of the engine, usual adjustment will not help to improve its work and will be waste of time and money.
