Check of levels of liquids

Liquids are the integral component of systems of greasing, cooling, brake and systems of washing of a windscreen. In view of the gradual expense and-or pollution of liquids in the course of normal operation of the car, it is necessary to replace them periodically. Check of level of impellent oil

Oil level in the engine should be checked each 1000 km of run. If necessary oil is necessary for adding.

The oil expense should not exceed 1 l on 1000 km of run. The bolshy expense specifies in deterioration маслоотражательных caps.

Check of level of oil is the important preventive procedure. Constant falling of level of oil specifies or in presence of its leaks through the damaged epiploons or ослабшие connections, or on its burning out (internal leaks through the worn out piston rings or through directing plugs of valves). Engine cooler

At cooling of the engine the cooler automatically arrives back in cooling system that provides maintenance of constant value of its level.

Check of level of a cooler in the tank should be made regularly. Add 40 %/60 %-s' mix of antifreeze on a basis этиленгликоля with not containing to exhaust pure water.

Banish the car and again measure cooler level. If to the necessary level it is required to add only a cooler small amount for this purpose it is possible to use pure water. However frequent additions of water will dilute antifreeze. To provide a normal parity of antifreeze and water, always add to the necessary level a demanded mix.

If cooler level falls regularly in system leak presence is possible. Examine a radiator, hoses, a cover of a mouth, a stopper plum and the water pump (address to Section Replacement of a liquid of system of cooling. Check of frost resistance of a cooler. Visual check of system of cooling) If any leaks it is not revealed, make check of tightness of a cover of a broad tank and a radiator in dealer branch of service BMW.

If you need to uncover, wait, while the engine completely will cool down, then wrap up a piece of thick rags round a cover and turn away it to the first emphasis. If thus from under a cover steam or a cooler starts to be pulled out, allow to the engine to cool down a little more, and only then uncover.

It is necessary to check up a cooler condition also. It should be rather pure. If the liquid has brown or rusty colour, it it is necessary to merge, wash out system and to fill with its new mix. Brake liquid and coupling liquid

The tank of a brake liquid/liquid of a hydrodrive of coupling is in an impellent compartment. It has two chambers, everyone on the contour of braking. The carving stopper has a ventilating aperture. It is necessary to watch that it did not get littered.

The liquid for windscreen washing is in the plastic tank on the right in an impellent compartment.

In areas with a temperate climate it is possible to fill system with usual water, but the tank should be filled no more, than on two third that there was a free space on a case of expansion of water at freezing. In areas with cold environmental conditions it is necessary to use special antifreeze for system of washing of the windscreen, reducing a freezing point of a liquid which can be got in any shop of automobile accessories. Usually it is on sale in the concentrated or ready kind. If you have got the concentrated antifreeze, mix it with water according to the instruction of the manufacturer on packing.
